LAPTOP Magazine Names the Best Notebooks of the Year

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 3, 2008 -- LAPTOP--Mobile Solutions for Business & Life, the leading mobile technology magazine and Web site, today announced the top portable PCs of 2008 in its Best Notebooks of the Year feature, which appears in LAPTOP's December 2008 issue and on Laptopmag.com.

In a year that saw an explosion of low-cost mini-notebooks, the Best Notebooks of the Year feature highlights not only the cream of the netbook crop, but also the best systems across all major categories, from lightweight ultraportables to big-screen desktop replacements.

"This was an especially exciting year for notebooks. The mini-notebook category took off in a way few had expected. In addition, we saw laptops get much thinner without sacrificing performance, the emergence of the 16:9 widescreen format, touch-sensitive media controls, and more eco-friendly designs," says Mark Spoonauer, LAPTOP editor in chief.

The notebooks that made LAPTOP's list are those that combine sharp design and superior ergonomics with innovative features and excellent performance.

LAPTOP's Best Notebooks of 2008 are:
